EOC Election Guidelines, Eligibility & Position Requirements
The elected parties will serve in 2 year terms. Election of the Board of Directors shall take place in even numbered years. Election of Directors takes place in odd and even years, based on the Director number. Regional VP’s are held in odd years.
The following eligibility requirements are for all candidates and nominees for both the Board of Directors (Officers) and Directors. The position specific requirements will be broken down under the respective position.
1. All candidates/nominees must be a member in good standing for 3 years.
2. All candidates/nominees must meet 1 or more of the following requirements:
1. Must have served as a member of a CCAA committee for 1 year
Or
- Must have served a full term (2 years) as a Regional VP
Or
3. Must have served a full term on the BOD and have met the requirements for their office
Board of Directors/ Club Officers:
The Board of Directors consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and AKC Delegate. The position specific requirements are outlined below where applicable. The BOD elections are held in even years.
1. President – Served for at least 1 full term as an Officer or Director of the CCAA
2. Vice-President - Served for at least 1 full term as an Officer or Director of the CCAA
3. Secretary – No additional
4. Treasurer – No additional
5. AKC Delegate – 5 years experience participating in AKC events, extensive knowledge and understanding of the workings of the AKC. This elected position holder must qualify under the AKC guidelines.
Directors:
Director #1 – Breed Education – election held odd years -
Must have notable and significant experience with the breed, must have studied dog structure and be able to demonstrate a solid grasp of the Standard/breed. Experience in breed education or Judging is preferred.
Director #2 – Ethics & Grievances – election held even years -

Must have good organizational and people skills

August 15, 2010:
The 2010 Election Oversight Committee has been voted on and these members have been approved by the Board of Directors of the CCAA. Vinnie Manganiello Region 1 .....Charlene Schmizzi Region 2 .... Will Yingling Region 3 .... Josh Drew Region 4 ..... Mitchell Mount one as an additional. Thank you to all the volunteers.
August 4, 2010:
The newsletter should be showing up in your mailbox's today. We are looking to get the next edition in the mail by the first week of September. We are doing a show spotlight centerfold. Any CCAA member who would like the see their dog in the Show Spotlight page; please send your AKC show win photo to mlerky@aol.com list the dogs name, the win and show location/date. We will need to have the pictures in by 8/31

3. The Health Survey is now up and active. Please participate for the breed - http://www.canecorso.org/health_survey.html
4. ATTS (American Temperament Test Society) http://atts.org/ will now administer the CCAA temperament tests.
July 12, 2010:
The CCAA would like to congratulate the first ever AKC Champion - Ch. Campo's Soloman di Rockhaven.
Additionally, the CCAA would like to congratulate the first female AKC Champion - Ch. PrideNJoyz Afterglow.

The Cane Corso has been approved for the Working Group of the AKC starting June 30th, 2010.
